Adam was a Marine that had survived two tours in Afghanistan. When he left the Marines he joined the Sacramento Sheriff's office.

Deputy Adam Gibson and K9 Officer Riley were shot and killed in January of 2021 while on duty.

Fellow veteran and Post 130 Legion member Jay Cooper discovered Adam's fate recently. Jay arranged for a tribute at the upcoming NHRA races at Sonoma Raceway. The drivers and teams will be honoring Adam, his dog Riley and family at the races July 22-24th.
