District installation meeting in Forest Hill: Melise Munroe outgoing president & Debby Sullivan is the new incoming district President
22 a day…. Is 22 too many!! Each day veterans take their own lives. Unit #130 will be assisting the mother and child of a veteran who took his own life. We will give the mother a gas card for $500 and a food card for $500. His daughter will get a $1,000 gift card to buy well needed clothing and shoes.
August 1st was the unveiling of the Bud Anderson statue in front of Big 5 in the McKnight Crossing Shopping Center. President Melise Munroe brought out 74 year member, Alyce Hammond to watch the unveiling. The following day, Alyce also attended the dedication ceremony of Patriots Corner, located at the McKnight Crossing Shopping Center.
August 18th and 19th, the Department of Ca held its annual Clovis workshop. Unit 130’s past President Debby Sullivan attended the workshop in her new position as District 7’s President.
August 29th is the Health fair at the veterans memorial bldg. Auxiliary members will be helping prepare and assist in serving the food.
September 7th is the Roamin Angel’s yearly car show. Dual members of the auxiliary and Stand will be manning a booth to promote this years Stand Down October 18th and 19th at the Nevada County Fairgrounds.
