Nevada County Craft Guild Arts & Crafts Day
Join us on Saturday June 6th and experience some great handmade arts and some great crafts! The Hall will be open for the day hosting some 30+ artists and craftsmen. Included in the mix will be Mike Llewellyn from "Image Nation". You may recall Mike encouraging, several of our Compadres, like Oral Stallings, Doug Becker and Jason Tedder to create great photos. The results of that effort was a day long display at the Rood center and in Truckee of many veteran artists! Mike will host the Veteran's Art tables at the June 6th event.
We'll have a great Auxiliary lunch available and the event will support Veterans!

Gold Country Line Dancing
The Post will be hosting "Gold Country Line Dancing" as a Veteran activities fund raiser.
Members from Northern California and Nevada will spend the day instructing and learning the skills involved in Texas Dancing and steps.
Our Auxiliary will be serving treats and energy food to keep the dancers moving, full and excited.

Bridges Tour
Our bridges and underpasses have plaques to honor our Local Fallen Heroes. Look for them on any bridge in Grass Valley and Nevada City.
Monday, May 25, from 1:00-3:00, we will have docents at each bridge to tell you about each local soldier. You can tour on your own or meet at 1:00 in front of the Grass Valley Veterans Hall for a bus tour.
Memorial Day
Remembering the recently lost this Memorial Day. Nevada County remembers and honors our Military Heroes with a moving ceremony at Memorial Park. Event starts at 11:00am.
Armed forces day
Nevada County Armed Forces Day presented by County of Nevada, Golden Empire Flying Association, American Legion Post 130 and Nevada County VSO. Free Public Admission. Pancake breakfast, military and civilian aircraft, fly-bys and displays, aircraft rides, Demos and Veteran Support booths, Classic car and military vehicles, food trucks, beer and wine. Help us honor our local heroes.

Take a minute out from your day and on Vietnam Vets Day, March 29, 2026 check in on your buddy. Remember those that have passed. Pat yourself on the back for your service. Toast all those Men and Women that served in unbelievable ways. Share your story and experiences with the Grand Kids. They have little clue of what it took. Thank your spouse .... I thank you.

Executive Board/General Meeting
On Tuesday, 6 January, at 4:30 PM, we will gather upstairs for our Executive Board/General Meeting.
A Really Great Guy ... Dave Craigen, will take over as our New Commander. Dave was in the U.S. Air Force from August 1963 to August 1967. He graduated from Chico State and he worked as a manager for State Parks and Recreation for 5 years. Dave will start as Commander on 6 January 2026. He's very sharp, and will do a great Job!

Please come to this event and represent the vets in our area. If you have any questions or concerns regarding recent and proposed changes at the federal level for Veterans benefits this is an excellent opportunity to voice those concerns.

Bovs and Girls State Dinner
Tickets are now available for our annual Tri-Tip dinner on September 13th. This is our primary fundraiser to support the Boy's and Girl's State program, and high school leadership scholarships.

Roamin Angels Car Show
All of the Veterans Organizations are welcome to attend the car show show and interface with our public. Booth Space has been comp'ed by the Roamin' Angels Car Club .
Nevada County Fair
Thousands of people attend the Nevada County Fair each and every year. It's a good event to see and to be seen at. Several Veterans Organizations will be present to help promote the activities and events we are Part of. If you can volunteer a few hours at the fair contact The VSO's office. They will direct you to the organizations that will be present and can use some help.
National Night Out
National Night Out is an annual free community-building campaign that promotes police community partnership, and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer, better place to live. Memorial Park, Grass Valley
